Introduction

Fashion design is the applied art devoted to the designing of clothing and lifestyle accessories. This art is influenced by cultural and social attitudes and has evolved over time and place. Fashion designing has come a long way from the designer clothes worn by the royalty of the ancient world to the haute couture products of the present.

Fashion designing is one of the most lucrative, appealing, glamorous and exciting career options in today's world. If you have a penchant for creativity, style and originality, a career in fashion designing is the one tailor made for you. On one hand, the fashion industry satisfies both the creative fancies and the materialistic needs of the people. On the other hand, it promises glamour, fame, success and a high pay package to the talented people.

However, it is also a demanding career, as fashion designers need to combine their creativity with managerial skills to sustain in this industry. Thus, if you can create magic with colours, shapes and designs, then just obtain a professional course to begin a successful career in the alluring world of fashion designing.

Step-by-Step

To start a career as a fashion designer, two types of qualifications are required, that is, natural and acquired.

Natural: this skill set would comprise of a decent aesthetic sense, colour expertise, good taste and sense of trends and fashion. An eye for detail, knowledge of fabrics and so on is a big plus for those serious about a career as a fashion designer.

Acquired skills would be a qualification from a decent, recognized fashion Institute. You can enrol for either a full-time course or a part time certificate course. Students usually take these up after their 10+2 level. Not that the courses are not available for graduates or people with higher qualification. There are several short-term certificate courses that are offered by the same fashion institutes for super specialization, on part-time basis. These courses equip you with technical and creative thinking skills.

Start Early

The word ‘fashion’ immediately conjures up images of glitz and glamour. The onset of the International fashion market in India has given an impetus to the fashion industry which has emerged as the booming industry and a career as a fashion designer is like a pot of gold. So, many young people who are attracted by these attributes decide to foray into the fashion industry.

While the academic requirements are not very high, you need considerable aptitude and talent to be labelled “designer” material. You must be highly creative to combine colours, shades and textures and express your ideas through sketches.

Your race for admission into a reputed fashion school will begin straight after school. Subjects like drawing, painting, home science and computer graphics will develop your creativity.

By the time you finish the course you will have mastered the step-by-step making of a garment: from designing to pattern making, production and even marketing.

Is it the right career for me?

A career in fashion designing is right for you if you are talented and exude style in everything you do. You must also possess the ability be original and creative and love to make people look good.
Further, you must be creative enough to combine colours, shades and textures and express your ideas through sketches. You must also visualise new design, patters, garments and accessories and enjoy working with fabrics and accessories.

If you have all this and more in you then you are all, set to step into the arena of fashion designing.

What would it Cost Me?

The fee structure varies from institution to institution. However, on an average you will have to dish out more than Rs. 45,000 per annum to complete a course in Fashion Designing from a reputed institution.

Funding/Scholarship

Some fashion academies extend merit based scholarships.  These scholarships usually waive off payment of tuition fee only. These waivers continue in the subsequent year(s) on the condition that the awardees academic performance meets the prescribed standards of achievement.

The criterion of these scholarship programmes is based on the annual income of the eligible student’s parental annual income. There are a few scholarships sponsored by reputed companies for meritorious and financially deserving students. Scholarship awardees also get educational loan facility to cover other payable fee and expenses.

Job Prospect

In India, the fashion industry has just begun to come of age, as it is still in its fledgling stage. This industry offers plenty of opportunities for talented hard working and enthusiastic people. Prospects for fashion design graduates are pretty good thanks to the huge and still growing demand for “designer wear” and the equally outsized quantity of exports.

After successful completion of the course, you can remain self employed. Alternatively, several export houses, garment store chains, textile mills, leather companies, boutiques, fashion show organizers, jewellery houses and media houses recruit professionals interested in a career in fashion designing.

Pay Packet

The Starting monthly package can be around Rs.10, 000 to Rs.15, 000. With experience, you will acquire maturity in designing skills and a few years down the line your salary would be in the range of Rs.30, 000 to Rs.40, 000 per month. Of course, if you become a reputed designer you could demand the world.

Great fashion designers salary always shows an upward moving trend. However, hard work and a conscious effort to update the latest trends in the fashion industry are imperative.

Demand and Supply

Economically India is progressing rapidly today with even better future prospects. Therefore, the country is today witnessing rapid growth in many sectors which includes the fashion industry.

Indian fashion is gaining a lot of popularity abroad because of cheap labour and excellent craftsmanship. Many top Indian designers are now catering to this growing international demand for quality fashion products and accessories. In addition, for the demand for Indian garments, designer saris and textiles are also of great demand.

Many individuals choose careers in fashion designing today as there are many areas of work and countless opportunities within this field.

Clothing companies need to hire people in a variety of jobs, ranging from fashion designers, textile designers, models, retailers, buyers and merchandisers, to provide end-to-end solutions to their clients.

According to a recent study, the India’s fashion designing industry aims to grow to Rs.1, 000 crores from the current to Rs.180 crores within the next 5 to 10 years.

International Focus

Better prospectus both in terms of salary and growth of fashion design jobs is enormous and extends beyond India’s markets to international markets too. Indian fashion designers are doing very well in almost all countries and hence the scope has broadened for students of fashion designing.

Fashion designers such as Ritu Beri, Ritu Kumar, Rohit Bal, Satya Paul and Tarun Tahiliani are known worldwide. Many Institutions provide training to potential fashion designers to expand their talent and become entrepreneurs in the fashion world. The India Fashion Week has become an international fashion event, with buyers from international stores making an appearance to transact business.

With more and more Indians dressing up and focused on looking good, there is an increasing awareness about fashion in India. The Indian fashion industry is booming. The domestic Indian Textile market is worth $25 billion today and growing at an annual rate of 15-20%.

Mega Malls are mushrooming all over. The Retail sector is witnessing a virtual explosion with the Ambanis, Mittals, Birlas and now, the Tatas making a foray in this sector. Career in Nursing ?

Introduction

What can one say about nursing! It’s such a noble and virtuous occupation. Although an age old profession, nursing gained popularity after the work done by the legendary English nurse Florence Nightingale. This angel of mercy is also known the world over as the founder of modern nursing.

Nursing involves taking care of patients suffering from all sorts of physical and psychological maladies. Nurses constantly have to monitor the condition of these patients and administer prescribed medicines at regular intervals. They also assist medical specialists and help set up medical equipment in operation theatres and clinical laboratories. Furthermore, nurses provide assistance to people who are unable to lead a normal life due to one reason or another or are recovering from illness. Other than these general activities, nurses can acquire specialisation in a particular area such as midwifery, cardiac care, intensive care, orthopaedics, paediatrics and so on. Nurses also have to keep abreast with the latest technological developments in the field of medicine.

Nursing is not just taking care of the sick. Other opportunities for qualified nurses include teaching, administration and research jobs. An interesting aspect of this profession is that a vast majority of nurses are women. However, of late, men are also showing interest in the profession.

Step-by-Step

Aspiring nurses can get into this profession at different levels. You can get enrolled into the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife/ Health Worker (ANM) course. The duration of this diploma course is one-and-a-half-years and it can be joined after completing Class X. Then there is the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program. The GNM is a three-and-a-half-year diploma course. The eligibility criterion for this program is Class XII with Biology, Chemistry and Physics with an aggregate of 40% marks.

Apart from ANM and GNM, you can apply for BSc Nursing (Basic) in different colleges and nursing schools across the country your schooling. The eligibility criterion for this program is a 10+2 with 45% aggregate in Biology, Chemistry, English, and Physics and a minimum age of 17 years. For B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) program, candidates can either select a two year regular or a three year distance learning option. The basic qualification for the regular program is a 10+2 and GNM whereas for the distance learning program it is 10+2 + GNM along with two years of work experience. The post basic course is considered as an advanced qualification.

The Indian armed forces admit unmarried women in the age group of 17 to 24 years to the BSc Nursing program. Here again the basic qualification is a 10+2 with 45% aggregate in Biology, Chemistry, English and Physics. Further, candidates have to be medically fit and clear a written test. Selected candidates have to sign up a five year bond to serve the armed forces.

A GNM or BSc is good for obtaining a job of a nurse in any medical establishment. Each state has its own association that registers certified nurses. Once candidates obtain qualification they can get themselves registered with the Nurses Council of their respective state. This makes them eligible to obtain a job.

Other than picking up the basic nuances of nursing, nurses can go for a particular specialisation by choosing any Post Basic Speciality (one-year diploma) courses on offer.

Specialisations are as follows:
1.    Cardio Thoracic Nursing
2.    Critical Care Nursing
3.    Emergency and Disaster Nursing
4.    Neonatal Nursing
5.    Neuro Nursing
6.    Nursing Education and Administration
7.    Oncology Nursing
8.    Operation Room Nursing
9.    Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Nursing
10.    Practitioner in Midwifery
11.    Psychiatric Nursing

Students interested in pursuing higher studies can opt for MSc followed by MPhil and PhD.
TOP College For Nursing
There are number of para medical college in India , specially located in Bihar & Jharkahand. Few of  medical college are
  • Bivha Medical College
  • Patna Medical College
  • Institute of Para Medical

Start Early

If you are interested in taking up nursing as your profession, then you can begin just after clearing Class X by applying for the ANM program. Else, you can make an entry into this realm after completing your schooling by way of applying for a GNM or a BSc program.

Is it the Right Career for Me?

Nursing is an ideal job for those who want to serve humanity. If you are compassionate, have an immense will power and spirit to serve the diseased and the weak and are willing to work long hours in stressful conditions then this is the right profession for you. Other traits required for this occupation include the ability to manage different situations and the willingness to adapt to new technology.

What would it Cost Me?

The cost of study in nursing schools varies from institution to institution. Government owned and aided nursing colleges provide education at a subsidised rate compared with private owned colleges. The fees for private and unaided nursing schools for a BSc course can vary from anything between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,80,000 per annum. In the same manner the cost for the GNM course in a private institute can be in the range of Rs 45,000 to Rs 1,40,000 per year.

Funding/Scholarship

Different institutions award merit based scholarships to deserving students. The scholarship amount and the duration vary from one nursing institute to another. Bivha International School funds for Nursing both for ANM & GNM. Student from Nepal, Bhutan, India gets scholarship of Rs.60,000 INR/Year.

Job Prospects

Nurses do not remain unemployed. They easily get jobs in private and government run hospitals, nursing homes, orphanages, old age homes, industries, sanatoriums and the armed forces. They can also seek employment in the Indian Red Cross Society, Indian Nursing Council, State Nursing Councils and various other nursing institutions. Even nurses who have completed the ANM course get to work as primary health workers and midwifes in primary health care centres that are spread throughout the length and breadth of the country.

Nurses can also take up administrative and teaching positions in medical colleges and nursing schools. Enterprising individuals can start their own nursing bureaus or even work on their own terms and conditions.

Apart, from these innumerable openings in the domestic sector, nurses who earn international nursing certifications and fulfil the prescribed immigration criteria generally move to greener pastures abroad.

Pay Packet

Nurses who are new to this profession often earn a monthly salary that is in the range of Rs 7,000 to Rs 17,000. Mid-level positions can fetch a pay packet anywhere between Rs 18,000 to Rs 37,000. Highly experienced nurses can even get a salary in the band of Rs 48,000 to Rs 72,000 per month. Nurses who get employment in foreign countries such as US, Canada, England and Gulf countries can easily earn even heftier monthly pay packets.

Demand and Supply

With the rapid growth in the population coupled with the requirement for better healthcare facilities, there is an unending demand for nurses in the country. However, the supply of nurses greatly falls short of meeting this ever growing demand.

According to a latest study there are approximately 10.3 lakh nurses registered with the Nursing Council. However, only 4 lakhs of these nurses are actively in service. A vast majority of them have left service due to retirement, marriage and immigration. In this context, there is a huge gap in demand and supply.

Market Watch

With increasing focus on health care, job prospects for nurses look brighter than ever before. More and more hospitals, nursing homes and medical establishments are being coming up. The government on its part is striving hard to give impetus to the nursing sector in the country. According to the latest development, the government has planned to set up more than 130 ANM and GNM schools each. Also, there is plan to strengthen the State Nursing Councils and Nursing Cells in various states. Furthermore, these plans include setting up of new Nursing Colleges across the country.

Government has also allowed special hospitals to start M.Sc. Nursing programs without these institutions having the prerequisite to set up corresponding graduate programs. The norms for admission to nursing schools have also been relaxed so that married women can now get admission to various nursing programs.

International Focus

There is great demand for highly skilled nurses abroad. In fact, India has emerged as the largest provider of nurses to foreign countries. The lure of big money and better living conditions abroad often attracts experienced nurses from India. A major reason for the scarcity of nurses in the domestic sector is their flight to foreign lands.

Nurshing Course , para medical education

Career after 12th 10th education program-What to do After 10th class and 12th class board examination

It is a great dilemma for the students to choose a particular stream for their higher education. Traditionally speaking, it has been considered that there exist only two stream after 12th where you can have a good career i.e. Medical and Engineering. Students opting for Maths, Biology are considered to be brilliant than those opting other streams for eg. Arts, Commerce, Law etc, specifically in India. This is a norm which has been set up by a Indian Society and anyone deviating from this norm would be questioned by everyone " Why didn't you go for IIT ? " , " Why not Medical? Its a great field " , " See how IIT students get good jobs, go for it ". Well these are the questions which block the thinking of a student to think beyond this and start considering these two as the only options which are available to him for higher studies. I have seen many students who are not at all interested in these fields, but even though they prepare for it because society has given its approval only for these two streams. Well, I am able to say all this because I am one of such cases who opted for Maths after 10th without thinking about my interest, as to What am I interested in ? But luckily I decided at the crucial point and left the idea of doing engineering and opted for law and I am not regretting my decision, actually I am very happy with this.

This post is not meant to favour something or against something, but this is reality and we can not ignore it that there is a very limited knowledge which is available to the students of other streams and that is the reason why they get confused while choosing a career in a particular field. "Three Idiots" has represented this matter in a very decent way as to how Farhan's family says on his birth " Mera Beta Farhan Engineer banega ". It was decided since his birth as to what he has to do in future and he did that accordingly but at last found the way to do the thing in which wants to do but after a great struggle. Even he was surrounded by the questions "Abbu nhi manege" . This is in fact has become the reality and case of Farhan can be counted as an exception where his parents were convinced and in most of the cases it is very hard to convince them and at last they choose the filed which is not chosen by them but by their parents, relatives. This is a very great problem which has been rooted in the society which has to removed otherwise there would be many student who could have done a great job in other fileds would land up doing some clerical work because of their disinterest in the field which has been chosen for them by their elders.

This is a very crucial decision in a life of a person, and it should not be imposed on him. His choice should get the utmost importance because it is he who is going to study and anyone should not play with his future arbitrarily. I have seen many people who could have done well in case they had been doing the thing which they were interested in, but has achieved a lot less because of the wrong choice. This happens not only due the pressure which one gets from the family but sometimes a person himself is confused while deciding this crucial matter. Even after taking certain subjects after 10th, he doesn't know why he has chosen that subject and is he studying that subject, just to get a job ? But is it necessary that you would get a high paying job by making a wrong decision by not choosing an area which you are interested in? Trust me you would do much more better in a field you are interested in, than the streams which one chooses just because it is considered good. Because, one can do well anywhere if he has capability of doing such thing. Take for example, you may be interested in Politics but may not be seeing a good future in it, but have you ever thought of at least trying it?Consider Chetan Bhagat, a well known Indian writer, who has completed his graduation from IIT Delhi and post-graduation from IIM, Ahemdabad, left his job and started writing novels only, indeed he once informed in an interaction that he would be working on the movies based on his novels. But have you ever thought what was the use of the IIT degree which he had got? His destiny was not become a Manager or for the matter an Engineer but a writer. Even you might be interested in writing but have you ever thought of doing this.

Even if you are not convinced with the discussion above and you are still confused as to which stream you should join, then you can consult the eligible person who suggest you and can give you a clear idea about the opportunities which one in respective streams because if you don't do this at this moment then you might be regretting your whole life by not making the right choice when you had a chance to do so. Even I had many friends who could have done a lot better in other fields than those which they have chosen but it is very hard to convince someone and tell them that you can have a better career in some other place. This article may convince you or may not be able to convince you but please think about this matter at least once carefully before making any choice because the period which you are going to spend after 12th would be the deciding factor for your whole life and it should be taken arbitrarily. It always better to think before than regretting later on.

(Kinds of drugs)

(Central Nervous System Drugs) -
(Anticancer Drugs)-
